Welcome to the St. Cloud Anarchist Network (S.C.A.N.) homepage
S.C.A.N. is a group of people concerned with the direction that our world is heading in. War, corporate globalization, environmental degradation; these are all issues which affect everybody. This network was created as an attempt to combat these issues at a local level and to raise awareness about them in our community. |

Friday, November 23rd
Buy Nothing Day
On Friday, November 23rd, a group affiliated with S.C.A.N. handed out leaflets, stuffed pockets, and chalked the sidewalks in front of the mall in honor of "Buy Nothing Day." One of the demonstrators recieved a 30-day ban and bar letter. The purpose of this day is to serve as a wake-up call to our consumer culture that our world cannot sustain our current rate of consumption, and that each indivual should take it upon themselves to decide what they do and do not need, rather than let corporations decide for them. |
Anti-war organizing
S.C.A.N. feels that there is a need for various groups within the area to come together and speak out as one voice against our government's long-standing policy of militarism and the current war in Afghanistan. If anyone knows or belongs to a group that would be interested, or would personally like to get invloved with the St. Cloud Anarchist Network reagarding this issue, please get in touch with us about it. |
Food Not Bombs!
St. Cloud Food Not Bombs will be serving on Sunday, December 6th, at 12:30 at Salem Lutheran Church. It will be a free, vegetarian meal, which is open to anyone and everyone.
